Green & Black’s Dark 70% Bar

Green & Black’s Dark 70% Bar

An extremely plain bar here both in terms of taste and presentation, which isn’t perhaps the most fitting way to end my Green & Black’s mini-series.

This is a 70% cocoa solids dark chocolate bar, with nothing more or less. It’s “made with the finest Trinitario cocoa beans”, I’m not sure what kind of selling point that is but…good for them, I suppose.

Something went oh-so-wrong with this though. I’ve become accustomed to dark chocolate in the time since I started this, and yet this bar was still…far, far too bitter. I took it slowly, letting pieces melt, not rushing it…and still it was bitter to the point where it became almost sour in my mouth.

I know Green & Black’s sell cooking chocolate (90%?), and I did have to do a double take to make sure I wasn’t eating that. Alas, I wasn’t, but this bar was just far too intense for my taste buds. Milk chocolate fans, steer clear, this one is aimed at the hardcore dark chocolate audience.

The 100g bar has 551 calories, 9.3g Protein, 36g Carbohydrates and 41.1g Fat.
