I used to live and work in the region where Zotter is made and it was always such fun to see what exciting new flavours they would come up with next! I am quite fond of ‘Schilcher und der Kürbis’ which combines two of the local specialities – pumpkin and Schilcher, a very dry but fun rosé wine.

Bagnew – Yes, you can definitely dunk bacon in melted chocolate. I find they’re best salted and stuck in the freezer. They get soft quickly, so keeping them in the freezer gives them a nice, hard consistency. (Or you could temper the chocolate, but I’ve never had the patience.)

The Vosges bacon bar is a deep milk chocolate, so it’s too dark for my tastes. Which is why I make my own. But be careful – once you start, it’s hard to stop.

The Zotter range is amazing. Has anyone tried the Cheese, Walnut & Grape? Its brilliant.

Jim – Lucky you! They’re definitely top quality chocolate makers, and don’t be put off by this bar, you might be in for a surprise.

As for free chocolate, I’ll leave that to the master.

I recently got sent a selection box from Zotter (I e-mailed them!) but haven’t been brave enough to try this one yet. I have tried some of their other flavours and have been pretty impressed so far!

Give them a mail yourself – I am sure they would be more than happy to send across a selection for you!
