Lindt Assorted Lindor

I picked this box up along with the Mint Lindor I had a short while ago. I figured it’d be nice to have a few new flavours at once rather than buy them seperately. Aren’t I a smarty pants?

The assorted Lindor box contains four individually wrapped flavours – Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, hazelnut and white chocolate. Obviously being a large box there’s plenty of each, and one thing I was surprised with and happy about was that there’s also a very even balance of each kind. Quite impressive quality control.

Amazingly I’ve never reviewed the milk chocolate Lindor truffles before, but they’re bloody excellent. Creamy, milky stuff, I love them just like everyone with a set of working taste buds does and I don’t think I need to go into huge detail with them. The dark chocolate truffles are also very nice, they’re a bit more balanced than the milk chocolate variety. They also lose a bit of the creamy taste and replace it with a less sweet flavour and a stronger chocolate flavour.

The hazelnut truffle has chopped up nuts within the milk chocolate shell and mixed into the truffle. It makes for a slightly different experience to any other Lindor truffle I’ve had before, where instead of being entirely smooth and melty, now I have more of an inclination to bite down on it because of the nuts. It doesn’t have anything mixed into the truffle so the flavour has to come entirely from the chopped hazelnuts, and it does in a rather delicate way. Another very nice addition, the only downside is that the wrapper for these is a reddish brown, with the regular milk chocolate Lindor being red, and it does actually take a bit of work to find out which ones were milk chocolate and which ones were hazelnut before I bit into them.

Last but not least is our white chocolate variety, with a white wrapper, white chocolate and white filling, white is definitely the theme here. I was worried they’d be a bit overly sweet, but Lindt unsurprisingly did a great job here. It was a bit less creamy than I’d have liked and seemed a bit low on flavour too, and was most definitely the weakest of the box but that’s saying a lot because they were still extremely nice.

It’s a wonderful box of lovely chocolates from a company that excels time and time again. Were you surprised? I sure as heck wasn’t.
