Another free product from Chocolates Direct, here we have an organic, fair trade bar from Switzerland. I guess England isn’t the only country doing this, and Maestrani certainly seem to be the Swiss version of our Green & Black’s or Divine.

This particular bar is white chocolate with bananas, almond and chocolate chips. Sounds pretty busy, out of the 4 bars I was sent this one appealed to me the most. There’s certainly not enough banana products on the market, I guess because it doesn’t sound great with chocolate. Let’s see how Maestrani do it.

All of Maestrani’s bars look the same, box art wise anyway. This particular bar itself is obviously white, and absolutely filled with little almonds and chocolate chips, making it a big mix of white, light brown and dark brown. The taste though is very bananary, but a little lacking with the almonds and the chocolate chips.

It’s certainly not a bad bar, I really enjoyed it. Like a lot of bars that try to do a lot though, this seemed to do a bit too much and as such the almonds and chocolate chips seem a little pointless. They added a nice texture but very little taste. If they want people to be able to taste them then I guess the banana flavour needs to be a little less strong.
