£6 for four of the couture chocolates I had last month, one liquid salted caramel, one chocolate pearal and two O’s. Here’s a mini tasting box of Artisan du Chocolat’s collection.

The box looks nice. It has a pretty little ribbon, and it’s a dark brown theme with their logo on the front. It’s made from an obvious quality material that houses the little plastic tray within.

The couture chocolates are pretty much the same as before. I recognised one of the herby flavours, and I had another that was quite praliney, and one that was quite fudgy (at least in texture, less so in taste). All nice, pretty and bitesize. The O’s are thin chocolate discs, one was white chocolate and the other was milk. They both have some really amazing handwork on the top of them, with their handpainted design, it’s almost a shame to eat them.

I did wonder how much flavour they could pack into such thin discs, but I was surprised. The white chocolate O was extremely jammy and fruity. The chocolate itself tasted great, and the milk chocolate one was a bit harder to describe but equally flavour filled and delicious.

The silver pearl was a slightly odd one. It looked really, really nice, but the taste was a little plain. It was a while chocolate pearl filled with dark chocolate ganache, and it didn’t really tempt me enough to want anymore of them.

The liquid salted caramel though. Oh my, that was delicious. Rolled in cocoa powder, these are a dark chocolate shell filled with sweet liquid caramel and a pinch of grey salt. The taste was amazing, it was definitely liquidy, I put the whole thing in my mouth and bit it open, it was a very intense caramel taste, sweet and salty and just really good.

So, what’s got my attention? Well, definitely the liquid caramels and the O’s. This is a good starter box, if your taste buds are anything like mine then you’ll end up just wanting more.
