Obviously a 70% dark chocolate bar here from Lindt, complete with a truffle (15%) and soft cherry-chilli (15%) filling. A lovely looking dark themed bar from Switzerland, let’s get stuck into this 150g beast.

The picture on the front looks nice. The truffle almost looks like ice cream, with some chillis and cherries melting on top. It then shows a piece of the bar, truffle and a little cherry-chilli filling, and coated in dark chocolate and given the Lindt stamp. They just call it a chilli bar on the front yet call it cherry-chilli on the back, weird.

Within the box is an obviously thick foil wrapper, and of course the lovely Lindt bar, or at least I assume it’s lovely.

The cherry-chilli filling is a bit different to what I was expecting. It’s like a jelly kinda filling, and the truffle doesn’t really add much at all. I could also hardly ever taste the cherry, only when I let the jelly sit on my tongue. Why wouldn’t I do that though? Because it’s actually quite hot! When eaten down normally it’s got a bit of a kick to it, but when I left the cherry-chilli on my tongue, it actually hurt.

The bar tasted ok. Not great, I wish there was more cherry as chilli doesn’t have much of a taste to it. The dark chocolate was alright, not as bitter as I expected though that could have been because of the truffle. A decent bar but I’m just not the biggest chilli-chocolate fan, spiciness is good but it never carries enough flavour for my liking. A bit more cherry next time and this’ll be a really good bar though.
