Lindt Williams Brandy Bar

A Lindt bar here with a Williams Brandy liquid filling. I had no idea what this really was so had to look at the pack, as well as do a bit of research. I think Williams Brandy is a type of pear flavoured brandy, and here with a Lindt bar that is filled with the stuff.

The bar itself looks really weird, it’s extremely thin and flat, and then there are little Lindt…tabs, or pods, that stick out from the sheet, that contain the liquid. As I said, it’s a really weird design but I kinda like it.

The bar itself is really nice, the brandy has a kick to it, and is in a real liquid form, so it runs down your throat. The chocolate is of a nice quality, and the bar tastes quite fruity and pear-like. Also, to contain the brandy, the tabs seem to have a crystallised sugar substance on the inside of each tab. It makes the bar a bit crunchy and it’s a really nice effect. Overall, like I said, I thought the bar was extremely nice and it’s something I’d love to try again. Definitely recommended, I’m not the biggest alcohol fan but this went down a treat.

Did you have to present your ID to purchase this? It sounds delicious.

Had this over Christmas in Germany and totally enjoyed it (despite the sugar lining that I’m not so keen on)! I think the shape is down to the fact that they try to emulate alcohol filled pralines – which are very popular in Germany.

Pam – I bought it online so no, but when I bought the Bailey’s stuff awhile back at the supermarket they had a message on their register asking if I was 18, so normally you do get asked, yes.

Sylke – It also seems like an easy way to store alcohol, in little sugar encrusted tabs. I didn’t mind it at all, it seemed unconventional to me, which is good!
