Hotel Chocolat’s Smiley Lick

The most plain of the three freebies from Hotel Chocolat, here’s some milk chocolate on a stick. It has a big, smiling face on it, but other than that…it’s just chocolate on a stick.

So it’s tough to write too much about this. Umm…the face sure does look happy, it’s pretty low key with the wrapping, 35g…yep. I guess we may as well eat it.

It’s fairly unremarkable, or at least as unremarkable as Hotel Chocolat can be. Basically it’s just 35g of chocolate. Hotel Chocolat tend to put a bit more emphasis on cocoa flavour rather than milkyness with their chocolate, so it’s not the typical European flavour that you’d expect. There’s no hint of hazelnut or anything like that, instead it’s a powerful bit of chocolate with not a hint of being overly sweet. Lovely stuff, I don’t know how well chocolate on sticks sell as even when I was a kid I preferred bars, but this is probably one of the best on the market.
