Cappuccino Ritter Sport

I’ve been wanting this bar for awhile now after tasting it in mini form in my Ritter selection box. It’s a standard 100g Ritter square, with cappuccino créme-like stuff within a layer of milk chocolate.

The front of the pack has a nice looking picture of a cup of cappuccino on the front as well as a piece of the bar. You can see that within the chocolate is a brown paste, that’s the cappuccino flavouring. The ingredients call it a Cappuccino-Milchcreme (45%), so that’s it really.

The filling is a little hard and feels like it would be better if the bar was softer, so I let it sit out at room temperature for a bit, and I was right. It has a creamy coffee taste, very mild but with a definite coffee flavour. They’ve made a very nice balance here between milk and coffee, which is pretty much what a cappuccino is (IBCoffee Nazis tell me otherwise) so congrats to Ritter there.

Overall it’s a real nice bar, I don’t know how they could improve it really. Nice milk chocolate, nice mild coffee taste, it’s all good and if you like a sweet chocolatey coffee then you’re in for a treat here.

I don’t really like coffee, but after I tasted Cappuccino and similar drinks I do like that! Chocolate and coffee goes together as well I guess. So I bought one of these… and finished half because it tasted horrifying! I have no idea why, but I thought the taste was weird. Maybe mine was old? As I’ve seen others say the same, they like cappuccino and they like this.. Strange. I don’t dare to try again because it was so appaling..
