Lindt Swiss Tradition
I’ve had my eye on this box for awhile but the price tag always put me off. When I saw it for £3 at Woolworth’s I figured it was worth a punt. This ‘De Luxe Collection’ from Lindt is a small, 160g box with one tray of chocolates.
A little booklet comes in the box that asks why Lindt chocolate is so good. Well, why is it? Because their Swiss master chocolatiers are true masters, use high quality cocoa and use awesome machines. The box itself looks great, a lovely gold box with pictures of the chocolates on the front. They all look really good.
The booklet also lists all 15 chocolates, with a lot of them being quite nutty. The one that sits in the middle is the Dragon Classique, which is a Marc de Champagne truffle filling in milk chocolate and decorated with the Lindt Dragon in dark chocolate. Complex and delicious with a boozy flavour that’s both milk and dark. The Amande de Luxe is another great chocolate, with a crunchy roasted almond on smooth almond cream filling with pieces of Amaretti and a coating of white chocolate.
The Pistachette, which is pistachio marzipan covered with dark chocolate and topped with a whole glazed pistachio on top is a marvel to look at, and delicious to eat too. The Macchiato also looks great; a milk chocolate cup filled with coffee cream and topped with white chocolate, it tastes like cappuccino and is of course lovely. That’s what basically sums up every one of these chocolates; great looking and even better tasting. If anyone got me a box of these for Christmas I’d be a very happy man, well maybe not so much now considering I just paid out £3 for these to review them, but ordinarily I would. Well worth the price for a great selection of Lindt chocolates.
