Nestlé Kit Kat Muscat of Alexandria
My initial impression when seeing this bar was “what the hell?”, no more needed to be said really. I’ve had some crazy Kit Kat flavours before, but…Muscat of Alexandria? Just what is that all about? Let’s find out.
It’s originally used to make white wine, and using it here has formed a light green Kit Kat with a grape flavour. Maybe it’ll be a little bit boozy tasting too, who knows? The sky really seems to be the limit with Nestlé of Japan, and fair play to them.
The box itself looks really nice. There’s a lovely bowl of grapes on the front, and Nestlé now list how many calories there are in each bar, 114 to be exact, though I assume that’ll be per pack. On the back of the box it shows a little picture of the Kit Kat, it is indeed a light green colour, and the entire thing just looks quite exquisite.
As you can see, the packets and the bar look great. The bar itself seems to be made up of white chocolate, judging by the lack of taste with the chocolate itself. The grape is the main flavour here, strong and fruity. It’s a very powerful taste, but it’s definitely a good one. It tastes a little bit boozy…maybe, the grape is so strong it does almost carry a bit of that flavour.
Either way, I quite enjoyed this. Grape is usually a tame flavour but they made it very powerful here. I don’t get to taste grape much here, it’s not a popular flavour, and this was a refreshing bar to have. Definitely recommended to grape fans, and someone wants to have something a little bit different.
