Lindt Peanut Butter Lindor Truffles

October 30th, 2008 by Terry

Holy christ I’ve been wanting to try these for a long time now, but always been put off by the price tag. I saw these reduced to £3 for the 240g bag and decided to pull the trigger on them, and so here we go…peanut butter Lindor, man, this just has to be amazing, right?

These are the standard milk chocolate Lindor truffles, only filled with a smooth and creamy peanut butter filling, in a somewhat similar style to their usual creamy milk chocolate filling. These are manufactured in America but officially distributed by Lindt here in the UK so I guess we can count this as being a British product…kinda.

The huge bag is a sort of orangey/brown colour, much like the individually wrapped truffles themselves. Like I mentioned earlier, the peanut butter is very smooth and creamy, it lacks any sort of grainyness or mass amounts of sugar that Reese’s has, and because of this I…don’t enjoy it as much, crazy as it sounds.

I guess I’m just so used to cheap peanut butter and chocolate that when something like this comes along it’s a bit of a shock to my system and honestly I think I prefer Reese’s over this stuff. Not to say that these aren’t nice, because they’re bloody lovely, but the peanut butter is a little bit too creamy and lacks the stodge that Reese’s has. This is probably aimed more at people who really like peanut butter, which I normally don’t, and it’s possibly a little wasted on my poor tastebuds.

Overall though, I do recommend these if you see them on sale, not worth the ordinary £5 a bag but take a few quid off and it’s worth seeing how real chocolate and real peanut butter should go together. Melty and creamy, very smooth and very nice.

Concur with you entirely on this one Terry, and I am a huge PB fan! The centre just seems a bit smooth dosen’t it … just lacks the grit of the Reese’s Peanut Butter.

I first tried these peanut butter truffles on a whim as they were on special offer just after christmas, and my God, I have never looked back. I am not one to eat much chocolate, but every now and then I get the urge. I have the urge now, but am finding it difficult to source them as my usual shop(Whittards of Chelsea), hardly ever gets this particular flavour in. Let me tell you, they are absolutley delicious, and compleatly moreish. I think it’s the combination of chocolate& creamy peanut butter.
