Tunnock’s Dark Chocolate Caramel Wafer Biscuit
Well what a surprise? After yesterday’s milk chocolate wafer biscuit, it only made sense to go with the dark chocolate biscuit today. I didn’t even know such a bar existed until it was brought down from Scotland, I have not once seen these in my life before.
It does say on the back “Enjoy our new dark chocolate!”, so perhaps this is just quite new and hence why I’ve not seen it. Anyway it comes in exactly the same wrapper as the milk chocolate variety, only it’s blue instead of red. The dark chocolate is 33% cocoa solids so it’s not exactly dark, in fact I’ve had milk chocolate that’s ‘darker’, but hey ho, it’s not like I expected much.
Obviously the bar is noticeably darker than before and it tastes a little darker too. Whilst not really that dark either in taste or bitterness, it is quite pleasant and does give the dark chocolate flavour just a little bit. These things aren’t really renowned for their chocolate though, what with the coating being so thin, and it’s all about the massive amounts of wafer and caramel, which are lovely as always.
Overall it’s a nice bar, I prefer the milk chocolate one but this is just as good. Not really worth trying to find but if you do come across it, feel free to give it a go.

Hmmm… Sounds delicious!
Yes, Terry, over here in Portugal, we get ‘Magnum’ chocolates, made by the same manufacturers of Eva Longoria’s Magnum ice-creams. I was just curious to know, because I was in Germany recently and they didn’t have them over there.
They’re quite good actually, send me your details and I’ll be glad to post some to you if you like.
