Tunnock’s Milk Chocolate Caramel Wafer Biscuit
One good thing about working in an office is the vast amount of chocolate that gets brought in, and when we had a presentation from one of our Scottish offices, the woman who came down brought a bunch of Scottish chocolates with her, and so today is the start of three days of Tunnock’s, one of Scotland’s most famous chocolate manufacturers.
I’ve had this bar many times and yet never really thought of reviewing it. Despite being covered in chocolate, and with caramel and wafer, it’s sold and described as being a biscuit by Tunnock’s themselves. Oh well. One interesting fact is that over 4,000,000 of these are made and sold every week. That’s…a lot.
Despite being quite small, the bar is chunky. The paper wrapper is quite nice and shiny, not too much more to say really. When you open it up the bar looks quite plain, and when a piece is bitten off you can see the massive amount of wafer.
Despite there being so much, it’s not wafer-like in taste, mainly because of the vast amount of caramel too. That also stops this from being dry and it also stops it from breaking off everywhere. It’s obvious that Tunnock’s have got the formula just right, and whilst this isn’t a taste sensation, it is quite nice and the kind of bar I like to have every so often if I see them about. Like I said, not the best around but very pleasant and worth a try, and it’s nice to have an idea of regional chocolate too, even here in Britain.
