Nestlé Heaven Milk Chocolate Egg
I’m not really sure why I bought this, as I’ve reviewed the milk chocolate Heaven bar before. I think it was down to a case of “well I haven’t reviewed this before, so I might as well”, and so here we are.
A lot of egg products seem to be centred around the Easter period for obvious reasons, but this I would assume is an all year product, as I bought this in summer. This is part of Nestlé’s growing ‘Heaven’ range, an attempt at upmarket bars, and with it growing then it seems they’re doing a good job with them, enabling them to try their luck with products like this.
So this is a Swiss milk chocolate (they make that known on all the range for some reason) egg with a creamy truffle centre. Sounds nice enough, similar to the Lindt egg maybe? Or perhaps a bit thicker than that? There’s a bit of blurb on the side but it’s fairly pointless to tell you it, just Nestlé bigging it up basically but nothing of any substance is said there.
So that’s a terrible picture and I apologise. What we have here is the milk chocolate egg with ‘Heaven’ etched into it, and then inside is a thick, crumbly truffle. The milk chocolate is quite thick, and there’s a load of truffle inside, it’s practically full to bursting. I have no idea what the truffle is made out of, but it tastes…horrid.
Yeah, this egg is complete ass. It has a really weird texture due to the truffle which they call creamy, and it’s practically the opposite. There’s no smoothness or creaminess at all, definitely crumbly. It also dominates the milk chocolate with its weird flavour, I don’t know how to describe it other than bad. It’s just bad. Now with an expiration date 5 months after purchase, that’s no excuse. Maybe I had a bad egg but I’m certainly not gonna buy another to prove this. Free samples, Nestlé?
Seriously, I do not recommend this, it’s such a far cry from their really quite nice bars. It’s not bad in a “man, this is so average” way, it’s bad in a “my god, I really do not want to eat this” way. Stick to the bars if you’re gonna buy anything from this range.

I’m virtually certain they *were* an easter product, which perhaps explains the bizarre nature of the truffle i.e. it was getting rather old. Though to be honest I don’t think they’re all that fantastic anyway.
