Milka Alpine Milk Bar
A plain old milk chocolate bar from Milka, lovely. But wait, this one is different, can you tell from the picture? It’s…in a paper and foil wrapper! Oh my god, I wonder why! Well this makes this bar quite special indeed, though it shall be devoured in the same way its brethren were.
So if you’re anything like me you’ll be thinking “well, we have a ton of plain milk chocolate bars already that are British, what’s gonna make me buy this Swiss bar?”, and I would say to you…let’s find out.
So we open our relatively plain purple wrapper, and we have a Milka emblazened foil wrapper within. Tear it open and there we have our very plain looking 100g bar, with lots of little Milka emblazened squares.
So like I said, what sets this apart? Well, the chocolate is a *little* different to what we have here, though it’s hard for me to put my finger on. I consulted the ingredients and found that they mix hazelnuts into the chocolate, though even after knowing that I still couldn’t taste them, but perhaps that still has an effect on the taste. There’s nothing else there which really makes me think “yep, that’s what it is!” except for maybe the milk fat which seems like an odd ingredient to me.
So is it good? Yup, it’s real good. I’m not the biggest fan of just plain old milk chocolate and I find myself looking for companies who do something different with it, and Milka have kinda done that. I’d buy it again if it was on offer, but I doubt I’d pay full price for this. Certainly worth a look though, it’s ever so slightly different.
