Milka Happy Cows

September 25th, 2008 by Terry

So you thought we were done with Milka? Well I sure fooled you! Or…Woolworths sure fooled me, anyway. This is the Happy Cows Milka bar, look and/or sound familiar? Well it should, this is the British version of Germany’s Kuhflecken bar.

So I’m expecting things to be the exact same, why wouldn’t they be? The pack looks exactly the same only with an English translation, telling me that this is “Alpine Milk and White Chocolate”. The nutritional information on the back is also translated not only into English, but into…Arabic? I’d assume that’s what it is, a Middle Eastern language anyway, kinda interesting.

Other than that the pack looks the same so I wasted no time and got stuck in. Now I originally wasn’t going to review this until I realised I didn’t take a picture of the bar before, and what with it looking so purdy, I figured it deserved a re-review.

And so there we have our bar! All cow looking, it’s a real delight to look at. Again the taste is somewhat lacking though, while not bad in the slightest, it’s very plain. The white chocolate never comes through because of how small an amount of it there is, and the milk chocolate is plain and fairly inoffensive.

This is a bar you’d buy just to look at, unlike Guylian which are pretty and tasty as hell, this has just got the looks down. Maybe a deeper amount of white chocolate is needed, or…I don’t know. Anyway, per 25g serving (the bar is 100g) this has 113 calories, 1.6g Protein, 15g Carbohydrates (14.5g of which sugars) and 7.4g Fat (4.4g of which saturates).
