Green & Black’s Butterscotch Bar
The bar I’d been looking forward to the most, yet never reviewed from the Green & Black’s range, delicious Butterscotch. Whenever I go out to a restaurant and get ice cream for dessert, if a sauce is offered, I go for butterscotch everytime. Delicious, caramelly, sticky sauce. Green & Black’s had best done this bar some justice!
So it’s a milk chocolate bar of course, 34% cocoa solids. All organic ingredients, yep yep, s’all good there. What more can I say? See my earlier Green & Black’s reviews for more in depth info on what they do I guess, but for now, let’s just open this paper wrapper, slit open the foil wrapper within and chomp on this thing.
So what this bar has is a bunch of crunchy butterscotch pieces inside. They’re fairly evenly spread, though I did get one little block that had a whole lot of butterscotch in. The bar had the taste of honeycomb, almost like a Crunchie only with better quality chocolate and obviously a whole lot less of the crunchy stuff. It was slightly buttery and creamy, though most of the time the milk chocolate was dominating.
Overall…eh, it was ok. I feel like it could have been better, but it could have been worse. I think there’s gotta be a better way of utilising the butterscotch, frankly I don’t think the pieces do it justice as the flavour is weak in places. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it, but I’m a little disappointed and unless it was on a special offer (it wasn’t when I bought it) then I wouldn’t buy it again.

Mmh, I’ve just tried this one and I think it’s pretty good! I love those little butterscotch pieces that stay in your mouth after the chocolate melted away. It’s very similar to the Tesco caramel bar, which has a lot more little pieces and is just super yummy.

Well, it’s my birthday today, and so far I’ve got NO CHOCOLATE!
Up to now I have received $60 in cash plus a $50 voucher for the local music shop.
