Ritter Sport Voll Erdnuss

September 3rd, 2008 by Terry

Voll Erdnuss mit amerikanischen Erdnussen. So, a Ritter Sport with American peanuts, I assume from the description and the picture on the front. Here we have an orange coloured pack with a chunk of Ritter Sport on the front, filled to the brim with chopped peanuts.

It actually looks like they have monkey nuts on the front too, so this intrigues me. So I opened the bar up and as always the underside is riddled with nuts. It has a lovely nut smell to it, entirely different to hazelnuts because these are of course, not hazelnuts.

So you break off a piece, or try to anyway but they’re all linked together via the nuts so it gets a little messy. It certainly does use peanuts, half peanuts in fact. They don’t appear to be roasted by the look of them, or salted by the taste. I actually hate peanuts on their own, and have never tried them with chocolate except for the peanut M&M’s, but I quite liked this bar.

It’s a slightly odd tasting bar though, perhaps a little bland. The peanuts taste as if they need to be roasted because they don’t have a great flavour on their own. I did say I enjoyed it and it’s true, I did, but it feels like something’s missing. Peanut Butter Ritter Sport, anyone?

There’s a thing in NZ called a Peanut Slab, which is basically 50g of Whittaker’s Milk chocolate (mmm…) crammed full of peanuts. Rather Good
