Ritter Sport Erdbeer Joghurt

September 2nd, 2008 by Terry

Erdbeer Joghurt, mit Erdbeerstuckchen aus besten Fruchten. Interesting…this seems to be a milk chocolate Ritter Sport bar with strawberry yoghurt cream in the middle, and it looks like it has dried strawberry pieces in it too. Sounds like a delicious combo.

The picture on the front has a pot of yoghurt and some strawberries, so I’m expecting the tangy yoghurt flavour with a sweet strawberry taste. The wrapper is pink as expected, and takes on the traditional Ritter Sport look and format. 100g as always, what more can I say?

So I open it up and break a piece off. First of all I take notice of the thick pink cream in the middle and the little red pieces of strawberry. The bar has a sweet, chocolatey smell to it, surprisingly enough no strawberry in sight (or smell, whatever). The taste though is entirely different.

It tastes as I kinda expected it to. The chocolate and yoghurt coming through first with a milky, creamy and tangy flavour, and then when left to linger the strawberry comes through, and with little pops of flavour from the strawberry pieces. The strawberry doesn’t have a huge taste to it, it’s extremely balanced with the yoghurt.

I’m somewhat reminded of the Divine Strawberry bar when I eat this, and somewhat sadly, Ritter have definitely created the superior bar with regards to taste. It’s quite delicious, a great blend of flavours that are all evenly balanced, and looks like it’s had a lot of work and preparation put into it. Hats off to Ritter, this one is a definite winner.
