Revels to ‘evict’ least-loved flavour

Share ThisMars-owned sweet brand Revels is to hold a Big Brother-style “eviction” to oust the least liked of its six flavours, asking members of the public to vote out the one they hate the most.
A press campaign, by ad agency AMV BBDO, launches next week with the aim of getting the public to go to revelseviction.com to take part in the vote.
The website features the six flavours - chocolate, raisin, coffee, Malteser, caramel and orange - with the strapline “Save the one you love, evict the one you hate”.
On the site, there will also be a video of the eviction host - dressed in a removalman’s brown overcoat and playing a keyboard on the cliffs of Dover - who introduces the concept of the “grand Revels eviction”.
One of the existing six Revels flavours will be replaced by a “limited edition mystery flavour” in November.
Users vote online for the Revel flavour they hate the most, which is followed by a brief video clip about the sweet.
They can also choose the form the “eviction” should take - a rocket, a Thelma & Louise-style remote control car, a cannon, a balloon, and a golf driver, with the host sending the Revel flavour off over the white cliffs of Dover to its end.
There is a “good” and “bad” ending to each video of the forms of eviction.
Production company Park Village created around 16 pieces of video for the eviction campaign website. Andy Welch was the director.
Revels plans to allow the eviction process to stay open until September 9.
Last year, Cadbury re-introduced the Wispa bar after a successful online campaign led by groups on social networking websites such as Facebook.

Why are they bothering? It’s obviously going to be coffee. I accidentally ate a coffee one once and it genuinely put me in a bad mood. And left coffee scent on my hands. I never like coffee flavours but this one is actually offensive. If italics were possible in the comments, I’d be using a lot of them. They should replace it with mint. Forever.

Ellie - That sounds pretty…extreme, I had no idea it was so bad. I voted for raisin myself as I hate the damn things, but coffee has 37% and raisin only has 27%. Screw mint, let’s get some peanut butter in these things, heck, we need more peanut butter-chocolate hybrids here anyway.

Take one pack of chocolate raisins, one pack of Maltesers and one pack of chocolate peanuts.
Mix together.
Tada! Revels without the nasty bits. Just discontinue the things and make more shelf space for things which taste nice.

You’re all crazy. Coffee is the only reason why I buy revels. If you want boring, orginal sweets, why buy revels in the first place. The’re meant to be different! =]

can’t possibly evict the coffee one - not everybody hates them! :O I want the toffee one out, hate it when you’re enjoying working thru the orange flavour, raisins mmm then get a TOFFEE!!! takes ages to eat it cos they’re always so hard! TOFFEE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too only buy them for the coffee flavour! Toffee is the worse! Infact if they sold bags with just coffee I would buy loads!

Coffee is my favourite one. Most of the time I just BUY Revels for the coffee ones. Hell, Mars should just send me (personally) a giant bag of coffee revels.
I’d have them get rid of caramel. Caramel is such a lie. When I think of caramel I think of soft, melt-in-your-mouth caramel. But instead we get this jaw-chore.

I love coffee too but I tend not to buy any Revels as they have too many toffee/caramel ones in the bags which I hate

It has to be raisins. Talk about mean, since you’ve added these tothe bag no-one I know buys them anymore. I can safely say that’s all you basically get in a bag now so until you take them out they won’t be bought by us.

NO REALLY 5! just for the sad people that actually like raisin YUK!

i love the coffee one! its the only damn coffee sweet u can get since rose’s got rid of theres :/ i want chocolate out, its boring anyways, but i like the mix as it is really tho, im guna go buy a million bags b4 they get rid of coffee!

Sorry to all those guys that want it to stay, but they ruin an otherwise enjoyable bag of sweets. Love rasins but agree with Jessica they could go and make room for something different!

I agree with you Pixie. I love the coffee. Its not just Roses, but Milk Tray also got rid of their coffee creams.
Get rid of Caramel. Last time I had revels the caramel took a filling out
