Cadbury’s Mighty Perky Nana

June 23rd, 2008 by Terry

I’ve had this bar before but didn’t review it, but now I shall. Made in New Zealand and sold there and in Australia, this is a banana flavoured chew bar covered with Dairy Milk milk chocolate.

Yep, Cadbury’s using their same old chocolate again, not that I’m surprised, but there we are. So the wrapper is obviously yellow, though what “Perky Nana” means, I have absolutely no clue, anyone wanna inform me?

So the chew bar is banana flavoured nougat, which is also coloured yellow. The milk chocolate coating is quite thin and cracks all over the place when bitten, which I usually take as a cause of bad quality.

Overall, it’s ok. The banana tastes artificial but not necessarily bad, the chocolate is relatively mediocre, and that’s about it really. I liked it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again.

perky nana?? that is just too, too crude. Nearly as bad as the ‘winkie’ sausages in morrisons.

I second that Lottie. I used to call my grandmother Nana. I’m now completely disturbed. It’s bad enough that’s it’s banana chocolate again, but making lewd claims about my granny? I’m suing you Cadbury.

It’s a weird thing. The people in Australia think that it’s a ‘nana not a banana. They like their ‘nanas to be nice and firm and perky, not mooshy. Hence, Perky Nana! God bless Australia. Oh wait… It’s a Godforsaken hell hole filled with spiders, snakes, and AUSTRALIANS!

    *shudder*

Lottie - Winkie sausages? Two years working there and I never noticed them. How strange.

Ellie - Are you saying your Nana isn’t perky? Could have fooled me and…I’ve just lost a reader.

Bagnew - Whoa there! At least you explained this bar, thanks. As for why it’s mighty…who knows?

James - That’s it. Unless you wanna try everything out there for the sake of reviewing, pass this up, not a snowball’s chance in hell of this making your top 10 list.

They make small novelty sized ones, and they were the only ones you could get for ages, and now to make it more appealing to those thuggish neaderthalic Australians, they made it big. And whilst trying to find a word that the Australians would understand, and find funny in their sense of humour, which involves crude references, the must have chosen ‘Mighty Perky Nana”
I’ll stop typing now, before I dig myself into a bigger hole…

    Bagnew - Whoa. /Neo
