Ritter Sport Nugat

June 16th, 2008 by Terry

Gotta love the German language, eh? Nugat is obviously nougat. This is a whole milk, milk chocolate bar filled with nougat (42%) which is made up of hazelnut mass. Yummy.

Once again the packet is nice, simple and pretty. It does a good job of showing off the bar like all Ritter Sport packs, and once again it shows the nougat filling the milk chocolate like Friday’s yoghurt filling.

That’s where the similarities between the bars end though. This is an extremely rich, nutty, praline bar. It actually took me back slightly when I ate a piece because of how strong the nutty flavour is here. I’d almost say it was too nutty, it was slightly overpowering and I could taste no chocolate, just a very strong hazelnut praline taste.

Overall, it depends how much you like hazelnuts and praline. If you’re a big fan of them then you may love this, if not you may find it to be a bit too much for you. I think I fall into both categories, the bar itself was lovely, I enjoyed every bit of it, but there was perhaps just too much hazelnut here for my palette.

I conquer..it has a really strong flavour and even though I like it I could only have it occasionally.I wish I was german though. They make the best chocolate AND they get to wear leather trousers without fear of prejudice. And their language is so soothing, a sort of angry charm. Is there somewhere that sells all the flavours? cus the only ones i’ve seen are praline and marzipan

German is a great language, I had 5 years of it at school though I only remember random words and phrases now. MEIN LEIDERHOSEN IST KUPUTT! Or something like that.
Try online, I got this and the rest from a place called GermanDeli, if you prefer the real world, Waitrose maybe?
