Milka Die 50er à la Vanille Pudding

June 3rd, 2008 by Terry

The tasty sounding Die 50er bar! I don’t have the Die 70er by the way so no review of that…yet. This is milk chocolate filled with milk cream with vanilla flavour. Vanilla pudding to be exact, sounds delicious.

I said yesterday this range reminded me of Lindt’s Petit Desserts, and even more so now, this has got to be Milka’s take on it.

So, vanilla pudding in milk chocolate. So that’s vanilla, milk and cream with milky, creamy chocolate. To me this is one of those things you look at when you’re hungry and go “Mmmmmm…”, and after a few pieces you’re sick of it, but maybe they can prove me wrong.

And…I was about right. The bar looks better than yesterday’s, but smells so sweet, and tastes…so sweet. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s delicious, it’s exactly how I described it in every way, right down to the sickliness.

This is something to be savoured, not gobbled, and Milka ensure you do that with the way this bar is made. Not for the faint hearted, you have to like your chocolate creamy, milky and vanilla…ry, and if you do, you’re in sickly chocolate heaven.

That looks like my perfect chocolate! It’s not the one I mentioned before, that’s called milka sahne creme and you can usually get it in woolworths or waitrose. It’s similar to a lindt lindor bar but sweeter and creamier, if you can imagine that! Also if you on a German chocolate quest type thing you should go to a lidl, they have these bars called schogetten with loads of flavours that are immense and cheap as well(59p for 100g). Although when I eat them I can’t resist the urge to put on a crap german accent, which subsequently leads people to think I’m a loon since they’ve no idea what I’m doing or why I’m doing it.Avoid the ‘for kids’ and tiramasu flavours but try the cappucino and the caramel cream because they are just too yum. Sorry for prattling on but I have to get all this stuff off my chest, cus there’s no one else who is remotely interested!

This Milka stuff is looking a bit too good Terry. Ive managed to keep myself from buying it everytime I see it in Woolies…but now it comes with a ChocolateReview endorsement it might be hard to pass up again!

    Good work as ever

Lottie – I’ll keep all that in mind! Don’t think there’s a Lidl anywhere near me but I’ll look around, caramel cream sounds great, but then again tiramisu is nearly always good too so I’m surprised you’re not recommending it. And you can feel free to rant, I allow comments for a reason!

James – I had no idea Woolworth’s did so much chocolate, I haven’t been into one in years. But you should most definitely give them a look, you can do so much worse.
