Niederegger Chocolate Covered Marzipan
Another beautiful looking Niederegger product here. This is an egg shaped box with ten individually wrapped chocolate coated marzipan loaves.
As you can see, the egg is really pretty to look at. On the little card attached to the ribbon it says “Nostalgie-Ei”, perhaps meaning that this is meant to be a nostalgic product, hence the old school look on the egg. Regardless, I think it’s all very pretty.
They actually have the ribbon on there properly too (take note, Whittards)! The egg opens via a couple of bits of tape on the side, and when it pops open you get what you can see below.
Each loaf is nothing more than bitesize, but it’s perfect really, the chocolate coating is thin, meaning that there is a monstrous amount of marzipan in there. So be aware, you have to really like your marzipan to like these.
And fortunately, I do. I thought these were really nice, the chocolate is 50% cocoa solids and its bittersweetness (that’s a word now) combines well with the obviously quite sweet marzipan. Marzipan fans, you will love these.
