Meiji Millefeuille Chopan

April 15th, 2008 by Terry

This snack looks like a Japanese, almond version of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. At least from the box anyway. Things are wildly different when the box is opened.

Millefeille is French for ‘thousand sheets’, and is a pastry made up of numerous extremely thin sheets of pastry, interloped with pasty cream, jam and other such things.

And so this basically a chocolate and almond version of that. As you can see from the pictures, these are tiny! They’re little oblong shaped chopans. They have a chocolate coating, then with a pastry bottom, a chocolate-almond cream in the middle, pastry on the top and finally a crunchier pastry to top it all off.

It’s actually annoying these are so small, because they’re absolutely delicious. Very chocolatey, with a hint of almond, crunchy and just lovely really. I really liked these, I just wished there was more.

Each box has 210 calories, 3.4g Protein, 19.3g Carbohydrates and 13.2g Fat.
