Lotte Strawberry Pie no Mi

April 11th, 2008 by Terry

Another Pie no Mi edition! Limited edition again, with it being Spring now, Japan is pushing a lot of Strawberry, Cherry and generally fruity flavours. This is one of them, the standard Pie no Mi pastries, filled with a strawberry cream.

I’ve never been disappointed by these things. The mixture of pasty, a filling cream and a delicious, seasonal flavour is one that always seems to work. Strawberry pies aren’t exactly uncommon either, so I have faith in Lotte making this good.

The box opens normally as you can see, and like always it had the packet stuffed inside, and then the packet itself is also stuffed full of these little pastries.

And unsurprisingly, they’re really good. Just like I thought they would be, they’re fresh and fruity, the flavour isn’t too strong, and it mixes well with the pastry. A lot of these were broken up which was annoying, but it’s to be expected.

Another great Pie no Mi edition, I highly recommend this brand, it’s never disappointed me. Per box this has 438 calories, 4.6g Protein, 45g Carbohydrates and 26.7g Fat.

these have me curious. i want to try the chocolate ones. but i’m nervous about japanese snacks now as none of them so far impressed me when i tried them. but you usually seem to like the lotte products so maybe i’ll try these and the koala biscuits.

Indeed, I don’t think Lotte has ever let me down except with one of their limited edition koala biscuits. You’ve gotta try these out, they’re really lovely. Or alternatively, stick to what you know, but I love trying new chocolate and stuff, even if it’s bad.

I really have never been able to enjoy Pie no Mi. Something about the flaky texture reminding me of oyster crackers. But these sound like an interesting flavor, and I’m always willing to try.
