Bourbon Rich Strawberry Choco-zutsumi

April 10th, 2008 by Terry

So once again I made a virtual trip to Japan with my good friends at J-List, and picked up this very interesting box of strawberry flavoured chewy mini daifuku.

The box looks pretty awesome. It shows some strawberries on the front and the little daifuku, though they’re life size. The box opens up, revealing two packets, and in each packet is four daifuku.

The daifuku are pink, look like they’re coated in a little bit of flour or icing sugar or something. Like regular daifuku they’re chewy and sticky, though the taste is totally different.

The strawberry taste is kinda tame, and there isn’t really anything more to these. All of mine seemed to be leaking some sort of sticky, strawberry stuff as well which made them even more sticky and picky than they normally would be.

Overall, these are ok, but the typical Japanese story of amazing packaging and a very lackluster product. Decent, but not decent enough to bother with again.

Each pack has 187 calories, 1.1g Protein, 34.6g Carbohydrates and 4.9g Fat.
