Kasugai Orange Gummies

April 7th, 2008 by Terry

Wow, look at the Engrish wall of text on these things. ‘Enjoy the mellow flavour and sweet aroma of sunshiny oranges rich and ripe in every wrap of soft and juicy Kasugai Orange Gummy.’ Whoa.

There’s a whole bunch of flavours in the Kasugai Gummy range, I’ve tried the Grape one in the past before I started this website and I honestly hated them. I thought they tasted nothing like grape, and were more akin to ass flavour.

The orange on the other hand is a different story entirely. I find that orange is a flavour that’s almost hard to get wrong, grape is a little experimental, but orange is institutionalised and if you do things properly with it, using real fruit juice and so forth, you generally can’t go wrong.

And with each packet having 120% of your daily Vitamin C needs, I’m sure they used a fair bit. Though with sugar and corn syrup being the first two ingredients, suddenly I’m not sure.

As it turns out, these are fine. They do almost taste ripe because of the gummy chew, the flavour is very rich, sugary and fruity and overall I did quite enjoy these. Recommended to someone who wants to try this range and yet play it safe at the same time.

There are 3 servings per bag, and each serving has 150 calories (0 from fat), 3g Protein, 33g Carbohydrates (all sugar) and 0g Fat.
