Cadbury Mini Eggs

Cadbury’s Mini Eggs1

So, another Cadbury product, another plain, boring Cadbury product…hoorah.

So Mini Eggs are a rather ordinary, yet popular, Easter product. They’re basically little eggs of Cadbury’s signature milk chocolate, surrounded in a crispy shell which then has an extremely fine coating of powdered sugar.

So what’s my bloody problem then? Well, I guess it’s just a case of my standards being raised since I started this website. I don’t mind these, I do like them, and there’s nothing wrong with what they do or what they are. It’s just that these are a little boring and bland.

Ordinary milk chocolate just doesn’t quite do it for me nowadays unless it’s particularly good, and this isn’t. As I say, Mini Eggs are certainly aren’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, and if you want a small chocolate fix or something for someone young for Easter or to just sit in a bowl in the living room then these are perfect. But they just don’t really appeal to me much nowadays…

You know… I’m not crazy about these… they taste… weird… I can’t really find any other word to describe it… maybe a little to… sour for me?

Out of curiousity what kind of Cadbury’s commercials do you have across the pond?

I just think they’re too damn plain, average, boring, etc. etc.

Our latest Cadbury’s advert is one of a gorilla playing the drums whilst a Phil Collins song plays in the background. I wish I was kidding, look for it on YouTube.

i love that gorilla one! people either love or hate it. oh and we have that cadbury’s crunchie ad back on tv in line with the whole nostalgia thing - the ‘friday feeling’ one on the rollercoaster from the 90s that always makes me feel like i’m back in school when i see it.
there’s also a creme egg one which is actually pretty disturbing in a funny way cos it is basically masochistic creme eggs deliberately finding inventive ways to squash themselves. go to the creme egg website and you’ll see.

Really? Well, there’s one reason I am glad to live in the US. We have had the cute little Easter Bunny for years and probably always will - nice to stick with a classic, I look forward to those commercials every year.

But then, you have like the most amazing universal health care ever and we don’t so I guess you’re still the winner.

Terry - I reviewed these the other day too and had similar conclusions. Im just not a big fan of sguar coated things I guess…nice to know im not in the minority with my thoughts.

An Cailin - Without getting too off topic, the term you’re looking for is “national health care”, as universal would no doubt apply to you too. But hey ho.

James - Maybe we’re both in the minority? We’re the bloggers with the power though so our opinion is worth that of a million of them non-blogging folk!
