Cadbury’s Dairy Milk with Caramel Egg

Cadbury’s Dairy Milk with Caramel Egg1

I had the option of buying a three pack of these, or the solitary egg, and opted in the end for the single egg. Why? Because I’m cheap, so there.

Ignoring the overly long title, this is what the Lindt egg should be…in terms of size at least. This egg is pretty much exactly the same as a Creme Egg in terms of size and in fact how it looks I think (if you have one handy, confirm that for me), so obviously Cadbury have their formula down to a tee.

As you can see, the egg is filled to the brim with caramel, which is between the level of the Lindt Egg, and the Creme Egg. It’s not fondant, but it’s not liquid, it’s a little bit droopy and thick, and as I said, there’s a lot of it.

A lot. Too much. Why too much? Because in all honesty…it’s not that nice. In the Caramel bar, there’s only a little bit of caramel and hence when you get it you enjoy it. Here though it’s almost all caramel, and you realise that it’s just…not that great.

All this needs is a slightly better quality of caramel, that’s it and for me this would egg would be great. Perfect size, thickness, etc. etc. it’s just the actual taste that lets it down, and because of that I recommend the other two mentioned eggs over this.

I couldn’t agree more. There is a third kind of large Cadbury egg though, isn’t there? I think I remember one…

The large Cadbury easter egg you mean? If so then yeah, I reviewed it today. ;)
