Lindt Lindor Egg

Lindt Lindor Egg1

I saw this in my local Asda, sitting quietly in the corner of the store, looking lonely, sad and delicious. How could I not pick one of these up?

The Lindor recipe is a tried and tested one from Lindt. We all know about the bar I reviewed, and the Lindor truffles, but how will a limited Easter egg version do?

Well the foil wrapper looks plain enough, normal red Lindor theme. The egg looks small, it weighs 28g and looks smaller than a Creme Egg, which is the quintessential Easter egg.

As you can see from the pictures, when the egg is opened, it seems to have two halves to it. Neither half is filled properly, there’s a gap between the filling, and I actually regret not putting this in the fridge beforehand.

Why’s that? Because it’s almost liquid. It’s absolutely delicious, but it’s not…thick, it’s almost like very liquidy chocolate on a water level of thinness, and it ran down my throat a little too easily, if I had refrigerated it then it would have been more of a truffle and I could have no doubt savoured it more.

My only gripe is that it’s too small, I could eat it in two bites, and that’s not big mouthfuls like a Creme Egg, if I was to do that I could eat this in one bite. Overall, a delicious egg, but there’s not enough of it, and make sure to stick it in the fridge before you eat it!

anyone noticed the ever decreasing size of these type of eggs eg. creme eggs, mars eggs etc. when i was little they were definitely bigger, and not just cos i was smaller.

I’m sure I read an article awhile back that did actually prove that the eggs had got smaller in the past few years, which is something that Cadbury tried to cover up with the very excuse that their eggs hadn’t got smaller, we had simply got bigger.

i can’t believe they actually expected the general public to swallow that! (pun totally intended) i meant to say - the caramel in the picture is amazingly scabby isn’t it? it looks like a tiny bit that just clung on for dear life and barely got through the packaging process.
