Nestlé Smarties Egg

While I was shopping recently I thought I should buy an easter egg, and so looked for the cheapest one around. That was this small Smarties themed egg, from Nestlé.
I haven’t actually reviewed Smarties before (I’ll do that next week), so this was a fairly decent egg to get. At only £1, it seemed like the type of egg to get for a very young child who wouldn’t need a larger one. In the box comes a small egg and 2 packets of mini Smarties.

The egg is your average, hollow milk chocolate egg. 25% cocoa solids, with vegetable fat in addition cocoa butter, the milk chocolate itself is 65% chocolate, whether that’s good or not I don’t know because I never see things like that usually, so…it’s probably a bad thing.
There’s not much else I can say about the egg, it tastes…ok, not great, not bad. It had an initially bad aftertaste but I got used to it quickly, and found it to be decent enough, though quite sugary. The egg expires at the beginning of June so it’s evident that this has been sitting around a warehouse for a long while, that’s disappointing.
The Smarties that came with it are ok, I could chuck them down in one mouthful and have some sort of chocolate explosion which was nice. Not looking forward to reviewing them though, if you know what they’re like then you’ll know it’s not the easiest thing to do.
Per 1/2 egg this has 195 calories, 2.1g Protein, 22.5g Carbohydrates (22.4g of which sugars) and 10.7g Fat (6.9g of which saturates).

Somewhat coincidentally I got a Lindt Lindor egg (which I won’t be reviewing, it was a gift that I just enjoyed instead), and an Aero egg. I do love myself some Aero, so that was good.
