So, our final Dolfin bar review! Once again I’m unsure of the title of this bar, so I just went with this. This particular bar hails from Ghana, and here’s the marketing blurb: “The coca beans reveal another African melody, something a little raw, but welcoming. It is a chant echoing through the bush, a cry from the depths of our history. The milk chocolate brings roundness and a sense of greater intimacy.”

Does it really? Well, this is a plain milk chocolate bar, with tiny little pieces of cocoa beans laced into the bar. The wrapper is same old-same old, with a slightly off-white colour theme, which seems to me that Dolfin really were running out of ideas when it came to the colour scheme.

I’ll skip straight to the business end of this bar. It’s great. Milk chocolate is my favourite type and when it’s done well I fall in love, and this is done very well. Smooth, creamy, great taste, everything milk chocolate should be. The cocoa beans add a slight grain to the bar, a little added flavour, something that makes it a little different. They don’t add much, but they’re a welcome addition.

A very pleasant bar overall, one I really enjoyed. As I said earlier, that brings my Dolfin bar reviews to a conclusion, look forward to a few filler reviews over the next few days, before I review Easter-only products in the run up to next week’s Easter Sunday!

my god their marketing blurbs are incredibly pretentious!

Tell me about it, they make it sound like this chocolate is some sort of godlike being, that we should be worshiping it. -_-

How are the cocoa beans in this differen from cocoa nibs?

  4. Terry

I think they’re just using a different word, as it was the same sort of cocoa nibs I had in some of my bars from Vosges, like little crunchy pieces of cocoa.

well we practically worship it anyway, i t’s not like we need any encouragement. still haven’t broken my lent giving up thingy yet by the way

Well done you! How are you holding up with that then? I haven’t seen you around in awhile so I assume my posts are boring, you’re busy, or you’re staying away in order to resist temptation.

ha! no posts not boring, and the posts are my way of keeping a little choccie in my life! v. busy with coursework though so maybe that’s helping me stay off the chocolate. COPIOUS amounts of plain rice krispie squares though. oops!
