Dolfin Dark Chocolate with Lavender

From France, comes this floral bar. “A surge of chocolate in the lavender fields. It is a breath of fresh air in the sunshine, nature, something a little wild that takes over your palate.”
Well my oh my, they’ve bigged this bar up, haven’t they? The wrapped is purple, obviously a floral theme. The lavender is from Haute Provence, though the Wikipedia entry for it seems to have nothing about lavender growing there, so this really doesn’t mean too much to me.
I eat floral bars with a fair amount of trepidation, it’s something that I normally wouldn’t think should work, as I’m not overly fond of eating anything floral in general. Smelling is good, but taste is a different matter entirely. As for this bar though, I had nothing to worry about.
Like previous Dolfin bars, it’s obvious that this is well crafted. The lavender doesn’t overpower the chocolate, the chocolate doesn’t overpower the lavender. They blend together and compliment each other, with the lavender just being a subtle flavour, enough to taste but without being unpleasant.

I liked this one quite a bit. Some lavender bars have actual lavender flowers in them … a little distracting. This one is subtle and lets both the flavors of chocolate and lavender come through as you pointed out.
