Cadbury Dairy Milk with Crunchie Bits

The last in the Dairy Milk range from Cadbury, this is a giant 250g block Dairy Milk bar with bits of Crunchie in it. Like the shortbread bar the way this is designed means it wouldn’t work well in single serving form, so the giant bar is the only way to go.

My problem with the Crunchie bar was that it was way too sweet, and I hate how the honeycomb gets stuck in your teeth, causing me agony. With the pieces smaller and spread out here, I would like to think this wouldn’t be a problem, unfortunately it still is.

The bar is just too damn sweet, I couldn’t chew down on the chocolate because it hurt me to do it, letting it melt isn’t a great idea either because the honeycomb becomes quite brittle and sharp, so I had to let it melt a bit and then swallow, which isn’t a great way to eat a chocolate bar.

In terms of taste, it’s pretty much exactly like a Crunchie, only with slightly more of a chocolate taste and slightly less of a honeycomb taste. It’s not that big of a difference really and I’m not sure if it warrants making an entirely new bar.

Overall I’m not impressed. Overly sweet and not enough to differentiate between this and the ordinary Crunchie bar, I see no particular reason why you would buy this unless you want what is essentially just a huge Crunchie with less honeycomb and more chocolate.

Per chunk (yeah that crap again) this has 30 calories, 0.4g Protein, 4g Carbohydrates (3.8g of which sugars) and 1.5g Fat (1g of which saturates).
