Glico Paripo Uma Chocolate Pocky

The second and last in the Paripo range, here is the more ordinary chocolate flavour. Whether it’s milk or dark I don’t know yet as everything is in Japanese, so it adds a strangely exciting air of mystery to this product, something that I do enjoy about Japanese confectionary.

Everything is the same as yesterday’s review in terms of design and suchforth, the box is red instead of yellow, much like Glico’s red box for the chocolate Pocky, and we have a chocolate cream inside the straw-like biscuits instead of the peanut cream.

Again, that strange flavour returns though. It must be the biscuit, because these were again just slightly different to what I expected, a little bit more creamy and just with a slight flavour that I can’t describe, that just changes the taste of the chocolate ever so slightly.

Like the peanut flavour, these aren’t bad, but they’re a bit weird. I can’t put my finger on what’s wrong with them, but there’s definitely something there that I’m not agreeing with and it must be to do with the biscuit sticks. Personally I would stick with regular Pocky, these aren’t bad, but they’re not that great either.

Per pack these have 214 calories, 3.3g Protein, 25.4g Carbohydrates and 11g Fat.

I have had those. I prefer original pocky sticks over the paripo. They are good for a delightful snack though. I would say overall they’re o.k.

I used to eat these everyday after school. I really liked them! But sadly, the stores took them down. ):

I prefer these over regular Pocky by a long shot mainly because Paripo does not cheap out on chocolate like Pocky.
