Kraft Fruit & Nut Toblerone

Kraft Fruit & Nut Toblerone

I guess it was only a matter of time before this came out, Britain’s obsession with fruit and/or nut based chocolate is very similar to America’s with peanut butter, and I know who got the better deal.

Toblerone at the best of times is a very average bar. It contains honey and almond nougat which sounds great, but when you can’t taste it AT ALL for whatever reason, then it’s really just no good.

That is sadly the situation with this bar. The fruit adds nothing, I could barely get the soft, chewy texture of it, and there’s no taste whatsoever. The nougat and honey are both so sweet that I had to eat this bar very slowly, lest it kill my teeth.

As far as I’m concerned this bar turned out exactly how I expected it to. I’ve never tasted a fruit and nut bar where the fruit was actually good, largely because it’s always either raisins or sultanas used, which are crappy fruits.

So overall, this is a disappointing bar, it still gets stuck in your teeth like a normal Toblerone, and whilst the triangle shaped chocolate format it has is its trademark, I really don’t like that much either.

I had the larger 100g bar, which had 500 calories, 4.9g Protein, 60.5g Carbohydrates and 26g Fat.

They should have left it at extending the range to include dark chocolate and white chocolate as well as milk. Everything else they have tried is just horrid, all the faults of the original and none of the virtues.

Really? Clearly you don’t quite understand the greatness of the Swiss Toblerone. Not only is it great for souffles, with the Rouxs being fans of this, it has great packaging- the bear in the mountain(it is from Bern).
I must admit the white and dark chocolate types are not too good, I love the almost over sweetness of the fruit and nut bar.
    They shape is pleasing.

anabels – Agreed, though I don’t know of any other combinations they’ve tried, enlighten me.

mabe – More like clearly there is no greatness to the Toblerone. And the shape is just annoying.

Well, plain toblerone makes a good cheesecake…
