Vosges Creole Bar

Vosges Creole Bar

The last bar in the Vosges range. New Orleans style chicory coffee, Sao Thome 70% cocoa solids bittersweet chocolate and cocoa nibs.

A very, very rich sounding, and in the end, tasting, bar. It’s an incredibly bitter bar both because of the coffee and the chocolate itself, and something that has to be eaten very slowly.

The bar has big pieces of coffee in, as well as the cocoa nibs. I don’t know what the nibs add other than texture, but with the coffee there too, I’m not sure if they’re really needed.

I felt that this bar was a bit too rich for my likings, the powerful coffee and dark chocolate made things a little sickly, even when eaten slowly, though it tasted great.

This concludes the Vosges exotic bar range. There was a real mix here, whilst nothing was particularly bad, there were certainly weak bars in the range. It seems harsh of me to criticise something I got for free but considering how much these bars are normally, I would be very cautious over what I buy, make sure it’s something you know you will like otherwise there’s bound to be a bit of disappointment.
