Fruit Salad Chewits

The last in my Chewits reviews, though I know I am missing out on at least one flavour, and likely a few more, I’m not in a huge rush to scour shops for them though, so here goes.

What is fruit salad? Well when my nan makes me one it usually consists of orange, apple, plum, pear, banana and grapes. According to the Chewits boys though, it’s orange, pineapple and raspberry. Worst. Fruit Salad. Ever.

I guess having too many other fruits would cause too many conflicting tastes, but it’s still a bit of a disappointment, and I haven’t even tasted these yet. The packaging is a yellow theme for whatever reason, no big deal really.

These were really sticky again, I couldn’t be bothered pulling bits of wrapper off some of the chews, and I estimate I ate about an entire wrapper in the whole pack due to sticky amounts left on the chews that I didn’t bother pulling off.

One of my chews seemed to leak outside the pack as well and caused them all to be stuck together as well, which is just a sign of poor manufacturing, and it’s little things like that that get on my nerves. Bad taste I can understand, but constistently poor manufacturing is just a pain, and it puts me in a negative mood before I’ve even tried the sweets.

Anyway, the taste of these things is…odd. It’s not bad per se, it’s just really hard to put my finger on. It tastes a bit tropical, and none of the individual flavours seem to overpower any of the others, though I can’t actually taste any of them individually either, so whether that’s good or bad is up to you really.

Again I don’t recommend these, my first line in my first Chewits review was that I thought these were for kids, and that’s a definite now. These are made badly, taste average, and with other, better brands on the market, there’s no reason why you should be buying these. Stay well away from them.

Sweets just don’t do it for me. Chocolate all the way!
