Strawberry Chewits

Chewits have always seemed like a much more kiddy product than Fruittella, with the dinosaur on the front and just the way the packs look. Big bubble writing and very basic flavours, and after tasting these I’m more sure now that these are aimed at kids.

There’s no mention of real fruit juices here, though it does say in the ingredients that these use strawberry juice (from concentrate) 3%, which is the same as Fruittella, but there’s a huge difference in taste.

Whereas Fruittella tasted like actual strawberries, blackcurrants, oranges and lemons, this tastes like artifically flavoured strawberry with added sugar. Also, the texture of the chews here are much worse than that of the Fruittellas. These are quite sticky and well…chewy, but not in a good way like the Fruittella were.

So I’ve got to say that in the end I was disappointed with these. They hurt my teeth a little and just didn’t appeal to me in the way that Fruittella did. Each pack has 125 calories and 0.9g Fat.
