Grape Pocky

It’s been a few months since my last Pocky review, and with a few boxes of the stuff sitting around from my previous J-List order back in the summer, I thought it was about time I ate these babies. The first is the one I thought was perhaps the strangest, grape flavour…

Now I’m no stranger to either strange Pocky flavours or grape flavoured snacks from Japan, so would like to think I’m not going into this completely blind. The box is extremely small compared to standard Pocky stuff, and only contains one pack as opposed to the standard two. This is much more of a snack pack, but as far as I know it’s the only version the grape flavour comes in, so I had no choice with it really.

The box is ok, nothing special. Nice purple theme to go with the grapes, it opens with a little pull tab on the front that lifts the top of the box up, and then the pack is inside. It’s full of regular sized Pocky sticks: about 6-8 inches long (estimate), with 90% of the stick being covered in the grape flavoured yoghurt-like stuff.

In the end I actually quite enjoyed these, a strong grape flavour which is something I’m becoming quite fond of, and despite me initially beng a bit skeptical over these, they surprised me in a good way. It was basically what I expected, and I found them to just be a decent little snack.

They’re not excellent, they’re not the best Pocky around, but they’re nice. If you like grape flavoured stuff and you can’t find it anywhere then this could be it for you, I’m not sure if it’s seasonal but I assume so considering it’s not on J-List anymore at the time of publishing this article.

Per box this has 207 calories, 2.6g Protein, 27g Carbohydrates and 9.8g Fat.
