Cadbury Bournville

Cadbury skip on the advertising and taglines with this bar, simply describing it as ‘classic dark chocolate’, simple enough I guess.
I mean that’s basically what this is, it’s shaped like an ordinary Dairy Milk, and it’s dark chocolate. So that’s plain enough I guess, just a solid dark chocolate bar.
I’ve got mixed feelings about this bar, on one hand it’s only 39% cocoa solids and so I was able to eat this pretty easily, because it was in fact very sweet. On the other hand, it was sweet and dark at the same time, and had a really odd flavour. A good flavour? No, just…odd.
Not like most low cocoa dark chocolate, the aftertaste is quite smokey, not altogether unpleasant, but the taste when you’re actually eating it is just odd and hard to describe, a strange mix of sweetness and bitterness at the same time.
I recommend this bar if you’re after a no frills low cocoa dark chocolate bar. Personally I didn’t really like this, but I can imagine that some people would, it just wasn’t my thing. Each bar has 220 calories, 1.8g Protein, 27.5g Carbohydrates (26.6g of which sugars) and 11.8g Fat (7.3g of which saturates).
