Morinaga Grape Hi-Chu

Alright, the Hi-Chu, or Hi-Chew sweets from Morinaga are here. I’ve only got two for you at the moment because places were out of stock of some of the other, but here we go today with grape flavour, and tomorrow with strawberry flavour.
There’s not enough grape flavoured sweets on the market in my opinion. I don’t know if it’s hard to do or just not popular, but I love a good strong grape flavour and I don’t get enough of it. Fortunately Morinaga heard my cries and made this just for me, so I guess I had to review it sometime.
The pack is a nice pretty purple colour all around, to fit with the whole grape theme. There’s a picture of some grapes that are either sweating or covered in water, I’ll let you decide which, on the front. And nothing else of any particular note.
These come in a tube pack, just rip the red tape around the edge and the first few sweets fall all over the floor, like it happens to me everytime. Fortunately they’re in little silver wrappers which I forgot to take pics of today, and so they don’t get messy at all.
The actual sweets themselves are quite small, about 1cm in length, and half that in width and bredth. The sweets are white, with purple stuff inside. I’m not sure what they’re made out of, but it’s chewy and incrediblt fruity, the flavour is really strong and really nice as well.
A really rich grape flavour which I love, so I’m pleased with these. Morinaga did a good job and should be proud of themselves. Each pack has 230 calories, 0.9g Protein, 47.1g Carbohydrates and 4.3g Fat.

i always miss the red pully thing for opening chocolate bars and rip it open the old-fashioned way, and then feel annoyed that i missed out cos the red thingys are fun.

ellie – Yes I remember the Kit Kats and a few other bars having them, not too sure if they’re still around, but there was something strangely nice about the whole packet coming open with just one little bit of red tape.
anabels – I’ll certainly take a look around, though Korean stuff is noticeably harder to locate here in England than Japanese. Guess there’s just not much of a culture here for them.
