Morinaga Choco Ball Caramel

I’ve reviewed two Morinaga products in the past, with one being good and one being particularly bad, where will this one go though?

Well, the box is certainly odd. There’s a picture of a bird on the front with a load of chocolate covered caramel balls all around him. He’s holding a banner of some sort that I don’t understand.

The box has a flip top on it that dispenses the small chocolates. Each one is as I said, a small bit of caramel covered in chocolate. I reviewed the Morinaga Caramels a few months ago, saying that the caramel was very different to our Western caramel, and the same is true here.

They seem to have used the same formula because this is a slightly different taste to what I might have expected. It’s really good, just a little bit different and I quite enjoyed these.

I got them for only 40p from Mount Fuji’s online store but I’m not sure if they’re still at that price. I quite recommend them though, they’re an interesting little product, and quite tasty, you can certainly do worse with Japanese sweets.

The box weighs 34g but the nutritional info is per 100g, so per box these values will be about 1/3 of what I’m about to list. There are 490 calories, 5.3g Protein, 66.5g Carbohydrates and 22.7g Fat.
