Nestlé Rolo
Rolos are a very well known and long lasting chocolate from Nestlé. They come in a long foil wrapped roll pack, stocked full of these little things called Rolos.
What are Rolos? They are milk chocolates (14% cocoa solids) filled with a soft toffee centre (45%). 14% is a pretty low figure, and sadly it shows with the taste.
I actually found these really hard to comment on these because of how plain and unsatisfying these were, which perhaps says quite a lot anyway. These are milk chocolate shells filled with a very sticky toffee centre, and both just taste so, so plain.
The manufacturing of these seemed really bad, a lot of them were stuck together from leaky toffee and cracked chocolate and all sorts, not too pleasant really.
So I don’t recommend these much, they’re just not that great, and the whole ‘last rolo’ line they use as a sort of…romantic (in silver form at least) or friendly thing just seems so cheap nowadays.
The pack has 272 calories, 1.9g Protein, 40.3g Carbohydrates and 11.5g Fat.

the standard of all the classics has slipped a little lately, including the classics from my childhood. toffes crisps have more crispiness but it’s blander as is the caramel, curly wurlys are shorter, rolos are suffering from shoddy workmanship, drifters are too sweet now and time outs are thinner. sigh.

ellie - Maybe you’ve just grown up! I was never fond of any of those bars personally but still love my old favourites, even if they’re not that old - Kinder Buenos, Bounty, PB Kit Kat Chunky, Starbar, Crunchie, etc.
anabels - Yep the Riesens are much nicer, and I’ve got a review for them soon.

Hmm…I’ve never known these to be called Nestle. Here in the US, we have Rolos, but I’m pretty sure that they are made by Hershey’s here. I’m not 100% on it thought. I’ve not seen the Nestle logo on them, the pack is plain except for the Rolo logo. I’ll have to check them out the next time I’m in the grocery market.
