The second in my goodie box from the Chocolate Trading Company is another little selection bag, this one containing eight milk chocolate salted butter caramels. These are also made with pure cocoa butter and real vanilla, which isn’t a claim I see Mars or Nestle making.

In the paper bag is a plastic bag with the chocolate caramels inside. I won’t describe the bag or anything because it’s the same as with the wine truffles from before. The caramels look like regular chocolate caramels that you might find in a selection box, they smell much better though.

And the taste is just fantastic. The caramel is extremely soft and chewy, the milk chocolate cracks around it, but doesn’t give much in the way of taste, as that’s all left to the caramel. It’s rich and extremely buttery, it sticks right inside your teeth and yet rather than being annoying it’s still superb.

I just can’t praise these enough, I’ve never tasted a caramel that comes close to these, despite the ones from Thorntons and all the other companies I’ve tried. These are on a totally different level, and all I can say is that you have to try these. Wonderful, wonderful caramels.
