Cadbury Highlights
I finished eating this over 10 minutes ago, and all that time I have been trying to figure out my opening paragraph, and decided to just flat out say that I don’t know how to start this. Why am I stuck for words? I guess because this is the first time I’ve ever really tasted a…Diet Dairy Milk.
There is no other way to describe this bar, because that’s what it is. It looks like a Dairy Milk, tastes like a Dairy Milk, it’s just a rebranded Dairy Milk…with fewer calories, fat, carbohydrates, etc. It amazed me when I started eating this, as I didn’t expect it at all.
The only difference I can think of is that this chocolate is a little…chewier, it just doesn’t have the same texture as the Dairy Milk bar. The taste is almost identical, but this bar also melted to a disgusting mess at room temperature, which combined with the chewiness made it a slightly unpleasant eating experience.
It’s hard to say anymore, this is the first time I’ve ever had a bar that’s really just a direct rebranding of another bar that’s even made by the same company. This seems like a very risky move by Cadbury, and it could have backfired, but I guess it hasn’t.
This bar has 160 calories, 3.4g of Protein, 19.2g of Carbohydrates (4.2g of which sugars) and 10.4g of Fat (6.4g of which saturates). I don’t know whether to recommend it or not, I guess if you want a Dairy Milk and are dieting, then go for it, if not then the strange texture may put you off.

if you think about it its not really a diet dairymilk because its a 35g bar alot smaller compared to the average 50g bar :O *me thinks*

what’s the bloody point of that? i can think of tonnes of cadbury bars with about the same amount of calories and fat in them. they are so silly! silly little chocolate manufacturers!

Agreed with both of you, I didn’t know the weight of the bar was lower so thanks for that! As I said it’s a really weird move by Cadbury, but they have a *load* of Highlights themed biscuits and whatnot, so they must be doing alright with them.

Hello!
I think this could be good for people who are on low-carb diets (like me!) as only 4g of the carbs count, the rest are polyers (whatever that is!)

Whenever I diet I go low carb, and wouldn’t think (ok that’s a lie) about touching a chocolate bar whilst I’m doing it! All my carbs have to come from fresh green veggies, but perhaps that’s just me…

…. the point is… for diabetics who love chocolate you can still get a fix! While the like of Thorntons diabetic chocs are reasonable – it’s hardly mainstream. The only place I have found these are in Tesco, but recently have noticed that they have been removed from shelves… I hope they are not discontinuing them!
