Galaxy Fruit & Hazelnut

July 26th, 2007 by Terry

I’ve reviewed a few of the Galaxy products in the past, praising them for being cheap and yet pretty good quality chocolate at the same time. This is their Fruit & Hazelnut bar, a bar that is in direct competition with Dairy Milk’s bar of the same name.

This bar looks quites nice from the packaging, the fruit (sultanas) and hazelnuts sitting together nicely. The packaging is easy on the eyes, a nice mix of a light brown and various blue colours.

The bar itself has 5 breakable pieces, each is filled with hazelnuts and fruit, though from what I can tell there seems to be more fruit than hazelnut. The fruit is a little tough to chew through, and can get a little sticky, which almost ruins the bar.

What it means is that you bite into a piece, and fruit instantly pulls out of the chocolate, before going back in again, and it’s a little strange. But the nuts are very good, typical hazelnut taste, and the chocolate is the good quality stuff I expect from Galaxy.

Overall it’s a pleasant enough bar, the fruit can be a little annoying, but it’s not that bad. The bar has 239 calories, 3g Protein, 27g Carbohydrates and 13.2g Fat.
