And the last in the RJ’s series (for a little while) is here, with ‘a licorice log filled with real apricot fruit’. Just in case you didn’t read that it has real fruit, they also have a little red circle proclaiming ‘REAL fruit’ on the front of the wrapper.

I’ve been really impressed with RJ’s licorice so far, and they don’t let me down here, either. Unlike yesterday’s bar, where you could hardly taste the chocolate, here you can really taste the apricot.

In terms of appearance it’s very similar to yesterday’s bar, the filling is a thick, orange coloured apricot, and that is covered in dark black licorice. It’s quite a thick centre of apricots, and it’s darn tasty. It doesn’t taste artificial at all, because well…it’s not. The licorice flavour is still strong, but not quite as strong, meaning the apricot flavour is able to come through.

My overall impression with the RJ’s range is a very positive one. There aren’t many licorice snacks here in the UK, and it’s wonderful to see a good, imported snack. All the flavours have tasted great, and they’re all low in calories, so they’re a very good option if you’re dieting.

This particular bar has 163 calories, 1.4g of Protein, 36g of Carbs (26g of which sugars) and 1.4g of Fat (1.2g of which saturates).

Apricot, you say? Sounds too good for words! I’ve never heard of an apricot licorice, and it sounds brilliant! *want want want* :)

I’d never heard of it either, and don’t make a habit of eating apricots anyway and as you can see I was still very impressed. If you find any RJ’s stuff around you have to try it, I’ve had more of his licorice since in different flavours (such as the ordinary licorice) and they were all great too.

Loads of sites about R.J’s but nowhere to buy it other than a retail site.
